Fulfilment Channels

Central South Yorkshire Logistics Hub

Inventory stocked centrally in our primary South Yorkshire warehouse is picked, inspected, and packed in tamper-evident packaging with manufacturer origin documentation attached where applicable. Standard dispatch occurs within 24 to 48 hours of order confirmation.

Manufacturer-Direct Dispatch

Select handcrafted items, bespoke commissions, or specialised trade tools are dispatched directly from the verified Sheffield manufacturer's registered Sheffield workshop. Lead times vary by workshop capacity and craftsmanship complexity, typically 3 to 14 business days, and are clearly stated on individual product listings prior to purchase.

UK Domestic Shipping

*Express Cut-Off: Next Day Delivery applies to central warehouse orders placed Monday through Thursday before 1:00 PM BST only. Orders placed after 1:00 PM Thursday or anytime Friday to Sunday will be dispatched the following Monday for Tuesday delivery. Next Day Delivery is not available on Manufacturer-Direct Dispatch items.

International Shipping

We ship globally via DHL Express and DPD International to over 120 destination countries.

International shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on package weight, dimensions, and destination country.

Customs, Import Duties and Local Taxes

UK Buyers: All prices include applicable UK taxes.

International Buyers: Products shipped outside the United Kingdom may be subject to local import duties, tariffs, and Value Added Tax assessed by the destination country's customs authority. These charges are the sole responsibility of the recipient. We provide complete commercial invoices and Harmonized System commodity codes on all export documentation to facilitate efficient customs clearance.

Age Verification for Bladed Goods

UK Offensive Weapons Act 2019: All domestic shipments containing knives or bladed tools are dispatched via age-verified courier services. Proof of age (18+) is required upon delivery for all bladed items. An adult signature is required on all high-value shipments and precious metal orders.

Tracking, Loss and Damage

Every shipment generates an automated dispatch confirmation containing a direct tracking link. All shipments are fully insured against loss or transit damage.

Damaged on Arrival: Sign for the package as Damaged and contact cs@sheffieldsteel.com within 48 hours with photographs of the outer carton and contents.

Lost in Transit: If tracking shows no movement for 5 consecutive business days, contact our support team. We will initiate a courier trace and issue a replacement or full refund once lost status is confirmed.
